Hi all,
My attorney (a great guy by the way) filed my I485 without my employment verification letter. When I raised the question, he argued that the employment verification letter cannot be a ground for denial and that worst case scenario will be USCIS sending a RFE.
Is it true that it is not a ground for denial?
Is is possible to send it it separately to complete the file?
What would be your advice?

Job done.

What do you mean Our Own people?
By initiating the process of Green Card (with the eventual intent of accepting a US citizenship) arent we differentiating ourselves from "them" the people from the other country.
It is the inevitable that all need to accept....we might spent half a decade or more to gain the permanent residence here...only to find that when we get that, the lady-boom is shining over the land whose very credentials we have been planning to shed, so then it will be time for us to line-up with the Indian consulates trying to get PIO card using Premium Processing.... ???

I did submit through mail when I applied last year and it took for ever. My personnel preference DO NOT try that option. They atleast need 45 to 60 days for the PCC to be issued.

Thanks for your reply. The consulting firm is saying that they have sent it to DOL before July 15 and are waiting for the reply for the Substitution( I really doubt the legality of that statement). In case if there is a provision then How can we check the status of it?
MY friend has to bear the expenditure for the I140. He just came back to US after 5 months and would like to know weather he can spend 1500$ on this unrealistic Labor.

I would suggest councillor processing they're higher in the order than the counselor. But Do not try the consular processing because it's too hard to google it

I asked about the 180 day name check rule and she said it doesnt matter they still woudnt work on the case till NC was cleared.
How do you find about yoru namecheck status? Does USCIS entertain such queries over the phone? Or it is through Infopass?

Now I need one help. I have moved to Chicago area freom Michigan. We had filed from Michigan. So to change address to get FP notice in Chicago area what all I need to do? I had no Alien number on my I140. Please advice. I am looking at LIN number on the back of the checks. But for my wife she has different LIN number on three checks for I-765, I-485 & FP. Which one will be valid. Can I get any handle from these numbers to make a call to USCIS and request them to change my address online? What is the number for USCIS to call?

Today (7/17/08), I received a reply from USCIS by mail in response to an "expedite" service request I opened with regards to my biometric finger printing on last Friday (7/11/08).
Under the heading of status, the letter says:
"Due to the high volume of expedite requests of this case type, we are strictly enforcing the criteria that has been set for these expedite requests.
While your situation appears serious, you have not provded evidence of an extreme emergent need.
A request for finger prints will be sent.
XM0625"
Although the first part says that I have not submitted the evidence, the last but one line above contardicts somewhat, in that it says that the fingerprinting request WILL BE SENT.

Please go ahead with the filing especially when your employer is bearing the expenses.
Everything is in flux right now and even the bill is approved, It takes some time for the new system to get in place and you can preserve the Priority Date of the LC applied under the old system, if you need to reapply as per the new merit based point system.

I would greatly appreciate if any future outages in check collections are posted on the Homepage page at least one or two weeks in advance.
Reason - if member opted for "Bill Pay" (to make payments recurring )Bank deducts the money from the account as soon as the Paper check [from the bank] gets sent . This is done to ensure that the Bank has the cash to pay the check it mailed to payee (IV). If check never gets encashed that money is lost and wasted!
I don't know if this is feasible or not, but if IV can provide a bank Account Number and Routing, "Bill Pay" can be set such that Bank will send the amount Electonically to IV account (as E-check). E-checks get cashed in 2 days compared to Paper checks (sent by the bank) which takes 5 days [per my bank]. It's just a suggestion as I have no ideas on the issues and the logistics involved.
This is only temporary. We will accept the checks after some time and will update the page.

Could you post your case details ? I called USCIS they say you have to wait 90 days. How did you get past that ?

What do you mean by PERM was done in 60 days? Do you know the login name & password of the employer. I mean the IT guy will need the login name to answer any querry else he can not pull any info.
How come there was no receipt. Was it filed at all or was rejected by the computer & you do not know that?
