streaming original masters of the song to prevent uploading is very smart, but will probably be only for iTunes purchased songs.
I assume they could do that for all songs they have in the iTunes Store library independent if you purchased through iTunes or not. long as the file is in your iTunes library.
For a song that isn't in the iTunes Store library ( those without the covers) they probably haven't negotiated any rights.

I heard I think here at macrumors that Sony's mp3/phone is selling like hotcakes and I think they branded it as a walkman/cell phone.
What I hope is that the iPhone will be on Cingular, since my entire family and most of my friends are on it. I'd pass on the phone if they do one of those new deals where you're piggy-backing on other networks like Alltel (alltell, altell??) or it's on another carrier.

Here in Japan Sony's Chaku-Uta (mobile/cell phone music) dominates the market. With Chaku-Uta digital music sales out selling iTunes. Almost every Japanese phone can play Chaku or Chaku-Uta music.

I'm not saying that my speed was legal, but after she brakechecked me, she dropped her speed to under 55mph which is illegal at least in portions of Michigan; there's a thing called a minimum speed limit.

She is supposed to keep enough distance to be able to stop if I slam on the brakes. Ikea's doing it because they can get away with it. They know labor laws in the US are there to protect the employer, not the employee. They couldn't do this back home in Sweden.

How would the recent push against public sector unions collective bargaining effect this private company? It seems IKEA has the power to mistreat its employees because they're desperate for work. They've even hired a firm to "convince" the workers not to unionize.

This is excellent news! Hopefully the other studios will stop being greedy little buggers and get on board with the iTS.
I haven't bought a movie yet, mainly because there just isn't anything that I'm interested in the current selection that I don't already have on DVD. The other reason is that I'm more concerned with audio quality than video quality and I currently have no way of getting digital audio to my receiver, and I have no interest in watching a new movie in stereo.
Those of you that have bought movies, do they have artifacts? If yes, is it bad? I'm more interested in those that have played the movie over their SD TV rather than on your computer monitor.
I can't wait for the iTV! :D

If you want a job with more vacation days, FIND ONE! no one owes you a darn thing, certainly not pay for days off.From your own assertion it would seem that some firms think they owe their workers a vacation.
1. If you are on Salary, you contractually agreed to get the job done regardless of the typical "work week". If you don't want to work long hours, don't accept a salaried position. Just because you contractually agree to do something does not change the fact that the conditions of your employment should meet some agreed minimum standard. Otherwise, in times of high unemployment, it would just be a hell-for-leather race to the bottom.

Hey the Cingular deal is only six months exclusive, like the RAZR was. So you can all get it probably many more places afterwards and all of the bugs will be worked out by then.. I use Cingular and LOVE it due to the coverage in San Francisco which is difficult due to the seven hills. May other carriers I tried before including verizon and t mobile were much worse here.
Buy I have an 80GB iPod with 18,ooo songs so this thing will me useless to me. But it sure sounds cool!!

I am constantly amazed at the number of people who buy into this crap!
Here, I'll try to spell it out for you:
Apple has no antivirus for IOS because it would be completely useless. In order for a virus to get through to an IOS device it has to get past Apple's reviewers. That's the only way to install software of any kind on IOS, including malware.
Maybe the 'antivirus' for iOS.. will be more of a barrier, since they are wireless and bluetooth enabled etc... Isn't it pretty simple for certain programs to scan for vulnerable iOS devices.?

Being a true smart phone, capable of booting Mac OS X mobile (to be released) and thus being used as a wireless computerless remote for Keynote and PowerPoint presentations made on Mac or Windows.
Will sell millions on corporate, education and domestic markets.
With a huge halo effect!!!
That was my thought as well. Just as they did with the iPod and consumer identification. They could make serious inroads in business by showing them how to do integration right while looking cool at the same time. Blackberries and Treos are an integral part of the business person's life right now and introducing a phone with those functions (done better of course) in a beautiful form could change a lot of perceptions about Apple in the business community.
Apple could change their marketshare dramatically by getting businesses to 'switch'. With the option of running XP on Macware, its no longer an impossibility. Steve has been able to anticipate the consumer market pretty well, maybe he could do the same in the business arena.

US cell phones and cars, to name but two, seem to be archaic in design and function compared to elsewhere in the world. With that latest gold trimmed Cadillac SUV the size of a small bus and a 1980´s flip up phone, the US is all set to lead the way to retro.
