I don't think USCIS is ever going to find out about your income unless you disclose it.
Not filing tax returns is illegal no matter how small the income is. 5k is definitely big enough. I think you should go ahead and file tax returns atleast for 2009, so that you won't get into trouble with the IRS.

Reason is probably they discovered your employer is doing similar crap with other employees.

I didn't presser my parents about the bc and i took INS doctors appointment next week, thinking that dates are current for complete month why rush? so I can't file by tomorrow
You did the right thing. Nothing is going to retrogress atleast till the 15th of the month(this is when the Visa bulletin usually comes out).

depends on what the job required per your labor cert. If it said 2 years, then even if you have 36 years of industry experience you need experience letters for only 2 years.
If you are going for EB2 and your LC says MS+1 year of experience, you need experience for 1 year. If your LC said BS+5 years you need 5 years worth. If your LC said the job requires expertise in VC++, your experience letter must mention VC++.

a reasonable timeframe without limiting US Security.

check. We ask of the honorable members of the Congress and Senate to

feasibility of it. As the security of this country is considered a
priority, it is important that the adequate budget and resources are

This sounds like a good initiative to help out all of us that finally end up making in I-485. Suggest we rally all IV members to sign this petition:

Can any one tell the time between check cleared and Notice issued. My lawyer sent the checks and he will never bother checking his account daily for me. Hence Notice is the only thing i will get.

Other than the physical notice, I guess we can get the receipt numbers by calling them once we see a substantial number of members getting the numbers/notices.

Do I need an EAD for this
You are good to go after Jan 22 2008 for using AC21 (be on safe side until Jan 23 2008).
You can apply for EAD by your self and if you need help let me know. I have documentation for this (it is very simple and as other friends suggested, it is in IV website) but still if you need documentation let me know.

I do not think, number of employees matter. I work for a desi company and it has just 2 employees. Labor was breeze and 140 got approved in 4 weeks. Never got any RFE. However, I was in EB-3 despite having 4 years bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience.
What EndlessWait meant was, more the number of employees in a small company, the chances of RFE with ability to pay will be higher...

VSC received the application based on the tracking info from UPS.
Whether they forwarded it to NSC or TSC- I don't know yet.

My son I-485 application got rejected in Sept 07 and the I resubmitted the application in Oct 07 with correct fees, Check got cleared in Dec 07 and received FP notice with appointment due date in Jan 08, but haven't got my I-485 receipt yet, I talked to customer service and she said it showing the application is rejected on Sep 07, and she will made further inquiry and let me know through email. This thing really scared me, Can someone please shed on light on this.
